Kodomo Kid-Friendly Terremoto Cocktail

In honor of Fiestas Patrias (National Day) tomorrow in Chile, we’ve concocted a nonalcoholic version of the Chilean favorite. The name of the drink is Terremoto, which translates to “earthquake” in the Spanish language. It was created at the end of the 20th century after a devastating earthquake hit Chile in 1985. (Don’t worry adults, there’s also a boozy substitution if you’re feeling in the fiesta mood!) Ganesha’s Healthy Modak Recipe

Ingredients: 1 cup chopped seedless dates, 1/4 cup chopped almonds (or favorite nut), 1/8 cup desiccated coconut. Instructions: Combine all ingredients in mixing bowl and mix well. Pinch out small amount and shape into ball or classic modak shape (think Hershey’s kiss!). Enjoy! Pro Tip: Leave one modak out as an offering to Ganesha on his special day, Ganesh Chaturthi!
