The name in Afrikaans is&nbsp;<em>malvapoeding<\/em>, which literally means marshmallow pudding. This probably comes from the pudding\u2019s fluffy texture!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1\/2 cup (1 stick) butter<br>2 cups sugar<br>1\/3 cup apricot jam<br>2 eggs<br>2 cups self raising flour<br>2\/3 Tbsp. baking soda<br>1 cup milk<br>2 Tbsp. vinegar<br>Pinch of salt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cream together butter and sugar.  Fold in jam.  Whisk eggs and add to mixture.  Dissolve baking soda in milk and add to mixture, along with remaining dry ingredients. Add vinegar and mix well.  Pour into a greased 9&#215;13 baking dish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bake for 40 minutes, at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sauce:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2 cups evaporated milk<br>1 cup sugar<br>1 cup water<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heat slightly to dissolve sugar.
